Battle of z7 vs. 9800 recapped!

Top 5 questions on ZEN-7000 &

Genoray’s ZEN-7000 (aka Z7) C-Arm is one of the products that I focus on.  And often times a question is asked about how Z7 compares to popular OEC models.  This C-Arm is manufactured in Korea and being sold in about 15 different countries.  Unlike its predecessor, ZEN-2090P, this unit is built for performance.  Z7 comes with all new modern technology and awesome features along with high performance that rivals top rated C-Arms!  [Future Article: Read more about ZEN-2090P]

So when comparing a Z7 and OEC 9800, one of the most popular C-Arm made by GE OEC, this definitely is an interesting fight.  Through google search, you can easily find two articles that already compared Z7 and OEC 9800 side by side.  One of them is written by Blue Ox and the other by Complete Medical Services.

Blue Ox - z7 vs 9800Blue Ox’s FIGHT: Genoray z7 vs. GE OEC 9800 for Pain Management provide side by side comparison of essential core features including price.  Whether that was intentional or not, Z7’s section has a lot more wordings than OEC to describe its features.  One must wonder, whether that was due to tricky concepts of foreign manufacturer that required more explanation of same features we have here?  Or does the unit actually has more features to talk about?

From a quick glance, it seems like verdict is on the latter guess but you can check it out for yourself by clicking here: Visit Blue Ox’s FIGHT: Genoray z7 vs. GE OEC 9800.

And they did leave it off by saying ‘A very tight battle between the Genoray z7 and the GE OEC 9800!’ without any solid conclusion.

Complete Medical Services’ OEC 9800 C-Arm vs. Genoray Zen 7000 C-Arm seems to offer slightly different tone.  In their blog article, they put focus into comfort zone purchasing strategies.  Before going into technical and feature comparison, CMS asks ‘Is staying within one’s comfort zone the best decision forCMS - z7 vs 9800 their practice? Not always.’.

On this article, two units are compared in paragraph fashion instead of comparison chart we had with Blue Ox.  The comparison talks about C-Arm space and movement being slightly more flexible on z7 with 130 degree rather than 115 of 9800.  (correction: actual rotation movement on z7 is 135 degree, not 130)  The biggest difference pointed out on this article is with memory.  While OEC platform will only allow 63 images storage on GSP and 400 on others, z7 allows 60,000 images according to this article.  I’ve been seen manufacturer of z7 actually claiming over 100,000.

This article comes back to the question at the beginning.  ‘Is staying within one’s comfort zone the best decision for their practice? The answer is really – no. It is critical to see what other amazing systems are being offered – with equal or similar features and same high quality imaging capabilities.  You can read more about CMS’s article here: Visit Complete Medical Services’ OEC 9800 C-Arm vs. Genoray Zen 7000 C-Arm.
